The Program

Ouarzazate Day Trip from Marrakech

Depart from Marrakech at 7:30 AM for a scenic 3.5-hour drive through the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking landscapes and panoramic views. The first brief stop will be at the Tizi n’Tichka pass, perched at 2,260 meters above sea level — the perfect spot to take in the beauty of the region.

Around 11:00–11:30 AM, you'll arrive at the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village known for its striking earthen architecture. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this historic location has served as the backdrop for numerous famous films, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra. You’ll have free time to explore the site, climb to the top for stunning views, and take in the unique charm of this ancient village. After your visit, you may choose to enjoy lunch at one of the small, affordable local restaurants with views of the Kasbah.

At approximately 2:00–2:30 PM, continue your journey to the nearby Atlas Film Studios, just 20–30 minutes away. Here, you’ll explore the museum and film sets where countless international productions were filmed — a must-see for cinema lovers.

The final stop will be at the beautiful Kasbah of Taourirt, one of the most remarkable Kasbahs in the region, rich in history and traditional architecture.

Departure from Ouarzazate is scheduled for 4:00 PM, with an estimated return to Marrakech around 7:30–8:00 PM.
